One recent guest had this to say about their stay at
Garnet Hill Lodge: "Dear Don,
We wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had at
Garnet Hill Lodge during our stay in September. It was
our 27th year! It was nice to receive such a warm welcome from
you, Mindy and the staff. We found everyone to be friendly,
courteous and very helpful. We were very happy to be able to have
dinner at Garnet Hill during our stay. The food was wonderful
and we believe there is no better view anywhere than from the
dining room at Garnet Hill Lodge. We also enjoyed your piano
playing at dinner. The wine list is also great, with many
choices. We particularly liked the 7 Deadly Zins Zinfandel and
SURU Shiraz. The breakfasts were also excellent. Of course,
we were very, very happy to see that Mary Jane is back baking for
the Lodge. We enjoyed the fresh muffins in the morning and the
terrific desserts. The screened-in porch is a very nice
addition.
We very much look forward to our next visit to our favorite
place. Good luck to you and Mindy with your plans for the Lodge.
You are doing a great job!
Sincerely,
Charlene & Ron Lajoie"
The Log House Your Adirondack vacation begins at The Log House
Lodge: Walking in you are
greeted by the spaciousness of a great hotel, the warmth of a rustic
Adirondack mountain lodge, and the friendly charm of a quaint country inn. Once inside, you're drawn
either to the front where a magnificent view of Thirteenth Lake and
the mountains beyond stretches 180 degrees before you, or to
the dining room and its huge stone
hearth and the welcoming cheer of a wood burning fire within.
The garnet stone fireplace is ringed with rocking chairs and
couches during daytime hours and intimate tables for two for evening
dining and entertainment. Also
in the Log House Lodge is Preuninger's Pub, a cozy and
inviting bar area with it's own fireplace, table tops and rustic
furniture. Named for the new owner: Don Preuninger, the pub is
available for guests and walk in patrons alike.
Also featured in the Lodge is a guest lounge
with TV and a recreation area with games for kids and a relaxing
sofa. Upstairs are
sixteen lavish guest rooms, all with private baths and well
appointed furnishings. The nine front rooms
have balconies and a grand, panoramic view of the lake and mountains beyond.
The Birches
The Birches, decorated in true
Adirondack style, is nestled in a picturesque grove of white birch
trees and has five large guest rooms. These rooms can accommodate up
to six people each and are great for family groups. There is also a
common room, full kitchen and a delightful outside deck. One room in
the Birches has a gas fireplace. Direct TV satellite service is
available
in all the Birches rooms.
"Dear Don,
I was with a group last weekend who rented the Birches lodge.
Your facility is lovely and very peaceful.
However, my fondest memories are not of the view nor the quiet
solitude, but rather the wonderful staff you have and my
positive interaction with each and every one of them.
Kudos for putting together a staff that made me feel like
family.

"Dear Don and Mindy,
We had a wonderful time at your lodge. The food was good, the staff
were helpful and friendly, the trails were great and the room was
perfect. I loved the area with the fireplace for warming up and
sitting with a book. You had a perfect a variety of background music
in the main dining area. Top on my list is how very quiet and
peaceful it is in the lodge. We spent every minute we could
outdoors either skiing or snowshoeing but the time spent indoors was
equally as enjoyable. I will highly recommend your lodge to anyone
who might inquire and I feel very fortunate to have been able to
spend a few days there. Thank you again for providing a nice place
for my husband and I to celebrate his 60th birthday.

The Tea House Just downhill from the
Birches is the Tea House. The Tea House is the newest building on
the Garnet Hill campus and contains four guest rooms. More modern
than some of the other houses, the Tea House still preserves it's
Adirondack flavor. These well appointed guest rooms have whirlpool bath tubs, air conditioning, a kitchenette and
Direct TV. Access to some of the most popular area hiking trails is
within a short walk from the Tea House.
