A New Chapter Begins at Garnet Hill Lodge

Winter is here at Garnet Hill Lodge now. Our groomers have been busy and the ski trails are open.  Everyone agrees that they are in great shape even with the limited amount of snow we've had.  The Ski Shop has been buzzing with activity for the last several weeks and our staff and everyone else is very excited about the changes that the new owners Don and Mindy have been making.   So come join us and see for yourself what a difference a few months and some hard work can make.

At Garnet Hill Lodge guests can take advantage of the extensive surrounding hiking trails or relax in the cozy living room area and play in the game room. The hotel also features a first class restaurant serving a variety of local and rustic cuisine, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week for the winter season. In the area surrounding the Lodge, guests can easily discover top-rated cross-country skiing trails, snow shoe trails and scenic hiking paths. The nearby charming village of North Creek also offers boutique shops and restaurants.

“Whether it’s summer, fall or winter, once you’ve experienced a vacation at Garnet Hill, you will want to make it your family tradition”

Garnet Hill offers year round vacation pleasures with opportunities for leisurely days as well as participation in organized programming.

The Garnet Hill area is a natural paradise for those seeking a break from the hectic rush of everyday life.  In spring, summer or fall, 70 miles of marked and mapped trails provide gentle walks for the nature enthusiast, while the rugged mountain scenery presents the experienced hiker with more vigorous routes and climbs. Snowy, Peaked, Crane, Blue and Chimney Mountains are all nearby.  Fine swimming is offered in the clear waters of Thirteenth Lake, while its beautiful beach will reward those who prefer to just laze in the sun. Boating, canoeing and fishing can also be enjoyed, with rental canoes, kayaks, and rowboats available. Garnet Hill also maintains two tennis courts near the ski/bike shop.  Garnet Hill's extensive cross-country ski trail network is transformed into a mountain bike trail system in the summer and fall.  In addition to the ski trails we have developed an impressive interconnecting network of single-track bike trails - the rides are endless! Whitewater rafting on the nearby Upper Hudson River is another great spring, summer, and fall attraction.  Several rafting companies nearby offer a day’s activity with the opportunity to rest and relax at Garnet Hill, turning your week or weekend into a full vacation.

Within an easy and scenic drive are many area attractions, from museums and nature centers to natural wonders, historic sites and boat cruises - the area around Garnet Hill has it all.  To appreciate the exciting mixture of fall colors, a gondola ride to the summit of Gore Mountain is a must-do autumn activity.
