This stately house was built near the turn of the century, and was the home of Frank Hooper, the original mine developer in the area. Inside Big Shanty, a great stone fireplace, rustic yellow birch log pillars, and shelves of old books, define this surviving elegance of the 19th century Adirondacks. Big Shanty is a popular spot for groups and there are accommodations for twenty-five people in seven guest rooms.

North Acres Farm This is a farm house set on 30 acres of flat farmland right on the Garnet Hill Cross-Country Ski Trails. It has an outdoor hotub ideal for soaking away all those aches and pains from a long day on the trails. It has an old word feel as it is a real working farm house with outbuildings and barns. The view from the kitchen window is ideal for birdwatching or just observing the sun set over the mountains.
