Weddings at Garnet Hill Lodge

                           

 

Situated on 360 beautiful acres, surrounded by thousands of acres of Forever Wilderness Land and overlooking a pristine Thirteenth lake, Garnet Hill is the perfect setting for a wedding in any season.  Wedding parties at Garnet Hill reserve the entire Inn for two nights of the special weekend to include the rehearsal dinner as well as the ceremony and reception. This allows the entire wedding party and guests to enjoy a true Adirondack experience for the weekend. Because we have no other guests in house when we hold this type of event, we can be most flexible in accommodating each wedding party’s individual preferences regarding schedule, menus and other special requirements. 

The team at Garnet Hill is dedicated to providing an incredible weekend, from the Friday night events to the departing breakfast, our warm and friendly team of  Inn Keeper, Chef, Wedding Coordinator, Outdoor Recreation Manager as well as front desk and wait staff are at your service.

A wedding at Garnet Hill Lodge might look like this…

Festivities begin with guests arriving Friday afternoon to discover the resort’s many outdoor activities (Canoeing, tennis, beach, hiking, biking, etc.) or to relax in one of the inn’s many quiet corners. 

The celebration continues Friday evening with a rehearsal dinner.  There are many possibilities at Garnet Hill to stylize unique rehearsal dinners.  Options might include a barbeque on the front porch, a plentiful buffet style dinner on the front porch.

After a hearty country breakfast Saturday morning, guests are free to indulge in more of the resort’s activities or explore the local surroundings.  Brown bag lunches, a sandwich buffet or our casual tavern menu can be available to guests for lunch.

An afternoon or early evening ceremony outside on the lawns is the ideal time to maximize the Lodges views.  A champagne toast to the bride and gom with the sun setting in the horizon is the perfect way to begin the evening’s festivities.   After all of the traditional photo ops, guests continue the celebration with dinner and dancing to the beat of a live band or DJ.

Sunday breakfast, served a little bit later than the usual breakfast, is the ideal time for all of the guests to congratulate the new bride and groom and to bid farewell before departing.

Capacity

We can accommodate a wedding/reception up to 200 people outside with a tent.  The Lodge’s main dining room capacity is 100.  In peak wedding season, minimum capacity requirements may be in effect.

Availability

We are available for weddings in spring and fall with the exception of certain holiday times.  The best time for us to do large outdoor weekend weddings requiring a tent, is obviously during the warmer months of spring, early fall.  Indoor weddings/receptions work well during either season.

Lodging & Rates

The wedding party agrees to fill all rooms in the Lodge, Birches and Tea House at the following Bed & Breakfast rates:

Main Lodge -16 guest rooms, accommodating up to 43 people *

Balcony:
$159.00 per night double occupancy

$115.00 per night, per person, single occupancy
Traditional:
$119.00 per night double occupancy

$85.00 per night single occupancy

 

Birches - 5 units accommodating a total of up to 22 guests*

Tea House - 4 Units accommodating up to 11 guests

$129.00 per night double occupancy or $95.00 per night single occupancy

 

*Additional Persons in room: Children 12 and under sharing with parents, free

                Children ages 13-16: $25.00 per night        

 Adults: $35.00 per night

 

7% New York State Sales tax, 4% Warren County Occupancy tax are additional

Additional capacity could be provided by the lodge’s rental houses.

  • The bride and groom are entitled to one room of their choice with no charge.

  • A two night lodging minimum applies to all special events/weddings. Holiday weekends require a 3 night stay.

  • A full breakfast is included in the rate for each Inn guest. 

  • The Lodge staff will be responsible for guest reservations.

  • Guest use of Garnet Hill’s facilities, including beach, canoes and kayaks is included with each guest’s overnight stays.

  • Guest check in is 4:00PM.  Guests are able to arrive earlier and use the facilities for recreation.

Food & Beverage Cost

Dinner/Receptions

  • Menu - Our goal is to create a delicious and satisfying meal for you and your guests. Reception meals range in price plus NYS  taxes and 18% gratuity depending on what is chosen and, to some degree, the style of service desired.  From our wedding experiences, we recommend a buffet style of service which allows guests multiple choices of our home cooked foods. Our wedding package is just sample of our available menus. We will cater to your food choices.  Lodge staff will work with you directly in planning your menu

  • Linens – So that each wedding party can enjoy the colors and themes of their choice, the bridal party is responsible for renting the table linens, napkins, etc. for the reception dinner. Lodge staff will work with you to configure your seating arrangements and determine the number and type of linens needed.

WEDDING CAKE

Arrangements can be made through the Lodge for the wedding cake of the bride’s choice.

Lunch

The Lodge generally does not serve lunches. However, with a minimum of 25 people, a sandwich buffet lunch can be arranged. Also brown bag lunches which allow your guests to enjoy outdoor activities and a ‘picnic’ style lunch while engaging in some of the local activities can be pre-arranged

Breakfast

A complete breakfast buffet with both hot and cold entrees is included in the room rates.  Outside guests can be accommodated for breakfast at $9.95 (plus tax and gratuity) per person.  

Hors d’oeuvres

A variety of cold and hot hors d’oeuvres are available. These range in price per person depending on selection and service duration.

Open Bar

Hourly rates are available for an open bar (50 guest minimum) is available. Desired table wines and beers can be selected from our list.

Consumption Bar

This bar allows the guests order their own drinks which are then charged to the wedding party. This can be unlimited or restricted to beer/wine only.

 

Cash Bar

The cash bar is designed for functions where your guests are responsible for their own beverage charges.

New York State Law requires us to uphold all statutes and Liquor Commission Regulations regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.  Our servers can not legally serve a customer showing intoxicated behavior and will refuse service when deemed necessary.  No guest under the age of 21 or unable to furnish acceptable proof of legal age will be served.  We reserve the right to suspend the service of alcoholic beverages when in our opinion Garnet Hill Lodges liquor license or the safety of guests may be in jeopardy.  It is illegal to bring alcoholic beverages onto a licensed property according to New York State Liquor Laws. 

 

Site & Tent Fee

·        Large weddings may involve tent rental. Garnet Hill lodge will determine the best location for the tent based on site and in house guest requirements. The site fee for use of the lawn is $100.

·        The wedding party is responsible for arranging for the tent rental, setup and any related tables, chairs and linens.

·        Tent set-up can begin no earlier than Friday and must be removed by noon on Monday. There will be a penalty of $500 if the tent is not removed as scheduled.

Deposits

  • A $1,000 NON_REFUNDABLE initial deposit is needed to secure all wedding bookings.

  • A deposit equal to 1/3  of estimated food and beverage costs is required 120 days in advance of the wedding date

  • A second deposit equal to 1/3  of estimated food and beverage costs is required 30 days in advance of the wedding date

  • Full payment of the remaining balance is due upon departure.
