Ghost of Garnet Hill Lodge – Dinner Theater

March 16 @ 5:45 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us on March 16 for a live radio play, presented by the Gem Radio Theater!

The year is 1946. It is December in the Adirondack hamlet of North River, on a mountain where a garnet mine ran successfully until 20 years ago, when it was shut down. The Sanders family has inherited the property and its large house, with plans to open it as a Ski Lodge with its own Nordic trail system.  They have invested all their money into the endeavor and the ski season is looking good, with many folks riding the ski train to North Creek to take advantage of the trails at Harvey Mountain and adjacent locales.  But forces are against the family as the ski season begins; strange things are happening at the lodge and guests are canceling their reservation.

Gem Radio Theatre presents “Ghost at Garnet Hill Lodge,” a new radio play based on a 1949 novel by Frances Duncombe.  The tale of mystery, intrigue, and action will be brought to life by local voice actors and foley artist Jason Dora, who will create the sound effects live on stage using everyday items.

The writing of this original play was made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council.
