Join us on Thursday, Sep. 2 at 9 am for our Yoga & Weight Combo Class with our guest instructor, Jane. This one-hour yoga class encompasses both yoga flow and functional fitness activity.
Yoga & Weight Combo Class:
This class is the ideal union of both yoga and functional fitness. The first half of class will take you through a vinyasa flow and incorporate core work, warming up the body and engaging the power muscles of the abdominals, hips and gluteus, back and pelvis. From there, participants will have high energy compound movements with functional fitness incorporated. Dumbbell weights will be used and provided by Garnet Hill. Proper form is emphasized, this class revs up the metabolism using multiple muscle groups with 15 repetitions per movement. Functional fitness exercises train your muscles to work together and prepare them for daily tasks by simulating common movements you may do at home, at work or in sports. While using various muscles in the upper and lower body at the same time, functional fitness exercises also emphasize core stability.
