It’s shaping up to be a fantastic weekend at the Garnet Hill Nordic Center. The conditions are fantastic, the weather is in our favor, and there’s lots going on.
Today will be warmer, in the low 30’s, so the snow will be fast and that perfect corduroy Ed’s out producing will feel great!! We have over 35K open with set track and will be grooming all day. The snow is fantastic and the temps are ideal. Come ski us today!!
There will be a Rogers Road pick up 2:30 today, again please take lower Solitude to get to the Sugar House trail for this shuttle today. Call us with any other questions. For the daily snow conditions, check here: SnoCountry Conditions Report
The HURT Mega-Relay is 6 hour team relay event at the Garnet Hill Ski Lodge on January 14th. Teams of 3-8 skiers will compete to see how many laps of the 5K race loop can be completed in the 6 hour event time. Each racer must complete at least one loop. This is a fun challenging race format that is great for all ages and abilities. If you are ages 10-15, each loop you ski will count as 1.5 for your team. If you are older than 45, each loop you ski will count as 1.5 as well. All other competitors will have their loops count as 1. There are the following race categories:
All Men Relay Competition: 3-8 Skiers
All Women Relay Competition: 3-8 Skiers
Mixed Relay Competition: 3-8 Skiers per team (at least one M or F)
We will be running buses to Rogers Rd. pickup at 11:30 and 2:30 on both Saturday and Sunday.
Come on down and ride the Putty Pond Area (Tamarac, Putty Pond) Wilderness, White Tail Way, Hagan Trail and the #2 Trail (Log House Loop – Clockwise). Stop by the Ski Shop to get your trail pass and ask any questions. Fat bike passes are $10 for both half-day and full-day. This is the limited access pass. Come on Mondays for all-access fat biking. The all access pass is $22.
Join us for maple themed home baked treats, coffee and hot chocoloate at the sugar house this Sunday from 11am to 2pm. It makes a great trip, ski out, warm up and enjoy a short break, then head back up to the Ski Shop or continue on.
We have added an extra tour on Saturday, otherwise it’s our normal schedule of fantastic weekend tours.
Don’t forget about our weekly events at the Log House. Tonight is Friday Happy Hour with a raw bar for the oyster-lovers out there. Stay for dinner after Happy Hour and enjoy our Friday Fish Fry Special. Saturday is Prime Rib Night at the restaurant and Afternoon Tea is served on Saturday afternoons from 3pm to 5pm. Finally, on Sunday Morning, The Adirondack Mountain Bluegrass Band is playing at Bluegrass Brunch. Reservations are requested for brunch. See Log House Restaurant page for menus.
