We offer guided hiking tours each weekend on both Saturday and Sunday. These hikes are a great way to get out in the woods and learn about local history along the way. They are free to guests and $10 to non-guests. Please inquire at the Front Desk or the Outdoor Center for details and to sign up. Stop by or call (518) 251-2444.
Below are the hikes offered most weekends, however they are subject to change. Please contact our front desk for the most updated schedule.
Saturday – William Blake Pond – 10:30 am
From the Ski Shop we will head up towards the Hooper mine trail then turn off towards William Blake Pond. Though not a true pond, as it was originally the result of the stream being dammed for mining, it makes a beautiful stop on our winter tour and is home to plenty of wildlife.
Time—Approximately 1.5 hours.
Sunday – Hooper Loop – 10:30 am
This easy, laid back hike is filled with information on Hooper mine and its connection to our historic lodge. Discover abandoned mines’ shacks along the path, and enjoy some beautiful scenery.
Time—Approximately 1 hour.
