Our Ski Down/Ride Up program is one of the coolest things about skiing at Garnet Hill. Sign up at the Ski Shop for our bus service which will then pick you up at one of our pick up points and return you to either the Ski Shop or Lodge for another outing all the way down the hill. We generally run one pickup on weekday afternoons and two pickups on weekends. Ask at the Ski Shop about specific times and conditions for the day.
We offer four tours each weekend: 3 snowshoe tours and a backcountry ski tour. These fun and informative outings are a great way to learn some local history and discover new trails and ways to take advantage of them. Snowshoe tours are led by our guides, Chris Schempp and Patrick Murray, and depart at 1pm and 5pm (our moonlight tour) on Saturdays and 9:30am on Sunday. The backcountry ski tour also leaves at 9:30am on Sunday. Learn more.
We provide trail guidance and maps so you can enjoy our extensive trail system to the fullest. We’ll let you know which trails are open, what’s been groomed, and what the overall ski conditions are for waxing.
Lunch is served every day in the Outdoor Center. Delicious soup, chili, sandwiches, granola bars, candy bars and beverages are available to warm you up and satisfy the appetite after an exciting ski workout.
We have an extensive inventory of skis and boots to outfit you with equipment that is right for you. Today cross country ski equipment comes in many sizes and shapes. Each class of cross country ski gear fills a particular skiing niche. Light weight racing skis for competition, light touring equipment for groomed and packed trails, touring width skis for off trail, and metal edged skis for backcountry and telemark skiing. The latest advance in ski equipment are in the new compact ski designs – skis are shorter, lighter, and easier to use. Many designs will fit in the trunk of the car! Most of the equipment we sell is available to rent so you can “try before you buy.” We will deduct up to two days rental fees from the price of new gear you buy. See rental rates
