Gentle Yoga or Restorative Yoga Every Tuesday

July 6, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 9:00 am on Tuesday, repeating until September 1, 2021

$10.00

Join us every Tuesday at 9 am for a Gentle Yoga or Restorative Yoga class with one of our certified guest instructors.  This one-hour  yoga class is ideal for all skill levels – from beginners to expert yogis.

Class Descriptions

This form of yoga uses props to help support your body.  The goal is to completely relax into poses, which are held for at least five minutes and sometimes longer.  This means you might only do a handful of poses in a class, and it’s perfectly acceptable to drift into sleep during them.  Some classes may include yoga nidra – a guided meditation that allows you to hover between sleep and wake.  Though all different types of yoga can aid stress relief and brain health, restorative yoga poses place its focus on down-regulating the nervous system.  Restorative yoga can benefit those who need to destress.

Class Pricing

Single Class Drop-in Rate (non Lodge guest):  $10 per class

Meet our Instructors

Joanne Millis has been practicing yoga for 40 years and has attended many Kripalu workshops.  Her classes include a slow, flow, deep yin stretch, coordinated with focused breathing.  She also teaches restorative yoga and may include some tai chi and pilates.

Jane Derickson (200 hrs YTT).  She teaches hatha yoga.  In her teaching, Jane holds stretches and postures for extended periods of time and incorporates the use of props.

Sharon Barr (200 hrs YTT) teaches a vinyasa style class, connecting breath and movement.  She sometimes will incorporate chair yoga and yin practice into her classes.

Susan Olsen (200 & 500 hrs YTT) has been teaching for nearly 30 years.  Her classes are an eclectic blend of yoga styles and the level is gentle/intermediate.  She teaches a classic, detailed exploration of poses, alignment, breath, and mediation.
