February Update

Posted in General, Newsletters, Winter at Garnet Hill

What a Snowfall!

It has been a fun filled winter so far up at Garnet Hill.  The snow has fallen steadily throughout the winter and North River just had a major snowfall this past weekend. It created a great base of 14-18″.  Thanks to our grooming team, the surface is primed and ready for some outstanding cross country skiing.  As always, they are doing a world-class job, and are no doubt one of the reasons we were named #4 Best Cross Country Ski Resort in North America in 2019 by USA Today’s 10 Best.  The Garnet Hill woods are as beautiful as ever and snowshoe and biking trails make for a peaceful escape into the winter wonderland. The conditions truly are perfect for the start of the upcoming Valentines Day/Presidents’ Day Weekend.  Whether you are on your way up this weekend to enjoy a romantic getaway or quality time with the family, it doesn’t get better than this.

The Outdoor Center has already seen a host of great events and there are many more to come this winter. If you don’t follow us on Facebook, your missing out! We post a live feed as often as we can of our current conditions. It’ll make you long for the snowy hills up here at Garnet Hill.

Current Conditions at Garnet Hill Lodge

We’ve had over 10 inches land here over the past weekend and it has made for some great conditions! We’re skiing on over 45K of the trail system. The conditions are a beautiful powder/packed powder/corduroy with set track on a base of 15-19″.  Join us this weekend for snowshoe tours at 10am on Saturday and 9am on Sunday (beginners welcome), or an intermediate level cross country ski tour at 2pm on Saturday.  Tours and trail passes are free to lodging guests, rental rates can be found here.
