An Abundance of Outdoor Activities On Site

Garnet Hill is a hub of classic Adirondack activities and adventures all year long. In the summer, visitors and day users tackle our hiking and mountain biking trails, try a hand at the disc golf course, or they find more prime recreation close by.

When you stay with us you get free access to on-site trails – no need to get up at the crack of dawn to find a parking space at a trailhead, just hike out the door! Plus, any mountain bike rentals or gear you need you can find at our Outdoor Center, and all overnight guests receive a 20% discount on mountain bike rentals.

And, guests love kayaking and fishing on 13th Lake! August is prime time to take to the water and explore the beauty of the Adirondacks in the summertime.

We have an exciting announcement regarding our outdoor activities at Garnet Hill: pickleball is now available on the tennis courts right outside the Outdoor Center, which is also where you can find paddles for use.

Adirondack Attractions & Things to Do Close By

Outdoor adventure enthusiasts will love whitewater rafting excursions with Adirondack Adventures or another close-by company. There are also guided tours and a chance to make your own jewelry with Gore Mountain Gem & Mineral Shop, which typically opens for the season in July, and is just 20 minutes from us.

After experiencing our trail system at Garnet Hill you might check out nearby hiking opportunities at Peaked Mountain, OK Slip Falls Trailhead, Blue Ledge on the Hudson, and others.

On-Site Dining With Great Indoor & Outdoor Options

Whether you crave a cold beer or scenic views on a patio for your summer dining experience in the Adirondacks, Garnet Hill can fill that void. Our Log House Restaurant is excellent for refueling after a day of hiking, biking, or kayaking.

Dine on the patio surrounded by mountain views at the Log House, and make sure to take advantage of Fish Fry Fridays or weekly Friday Happy Hours.

New this year: We’re hosting BBQ Sundays all summer long at the Garnet Hill pavilion! Summer skies, lawn games, and a barbecue buffet await – every Sunday from 3pm to 7pm.
