Posted in General, Winter at Garnet Hill
The last Nor’Easter brought us a couple of inches of snow! That was soon followed by rain and trail conditions are currently wet and muddy. However, snow is once again in the forecast several times over the next 10 days with temperatures beginning to fall into the 20s overnight by the end of next week. Trails are not yet open to skiing but fat bike rentals are available from the front desk.
Fat bikes are mountain bikes with extra “fat” tires allowing for improved traction on the trails. You can ride in a variety of conditions, including mud and snow.
That’s right! According to weather underground, snow is predicted for Friday evening, Saturday, and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Though little accumulation is predicted, falling temperatures mean that winter is well on it’s way. Not to mention that Gore Mountain will be loving the arrival of cool temperatures in planning for snow blowing and opening up their trails. Their new snow blowing capabilities extend not only to their downhill slopes but also to their cross-country trails. Learn more about weather at Garnet Hill.
