Garnet Hill Lodge, a Quintessential Adirondack Experience

Posted in General, Summer at Garnet Hill, Things to Do

The sprawling, densely-thicketed Adirondack Mountains are calling. After a brief hiatus, New Yorkers (and New Englanders) are beginning to flock into the Adirondacks for some much-needed adventure, rejuvenation, and isolation. Garnet Hill Lodge, a quintessential Adirondack experience, began reopening its doors in late May, much to the delight of New York’s many nature enthusiasts. And, of course, there’s never been a more critical time to spend time with family amid towering eastern hemlocks and Norway spruces.

A Memorable Adirondack Experience

As millions of Americans continue to rediscover the allure of outdoor recreation, a secluded slice of Adirondack paradise, such as awe-inspiring Garnet Hill Lodge, becomes all the more enticing to those with a penchant for the outdoors. For up-to-the-minute information about safety measures, restaurant services, housekeeping, and available accommodations, please read this detailed announcement.

While repeat visitors revere this glorious estate for its proximity to miles and miles of potential exploration, the lodge itself is a shining example of rustic luxury, romantic ambiance, and historical significance. Tea House and Birches rooms feature jetted tubs, televisions, in-room coffee (and tea), and ample space, ideal for families and small groups. The Bobcat Bar and Grill, meanwhile, is serving some of the heartiest Upstate New York delicacies, such as maple-glazed pulled pork, seared strip steak, and roasted salmon.

Classic Summer Activities

When you’re not sipping on fine wine on the Log House lawn, soaking in a jetted tub, or watching a heart-warming sunset, don’t forget to utilize the on-site Outdoor Center’s many services. The Outdoor Center is linked to a network of multi-purpose hiking trails that meander through the backcountry en route to still lakes, jaw-dropping overlooks, and gushing waterfalls. Paddling via kayak or canoe is perhaps the best way to work on core muscles while also admiring Thirteenth Lake’s sheer beauty, a serene Adirondack experience. No powerboats are allowed on Thirteenth Lake, so you’re in for quite the treat.

Guests can also carve down the property’s singletrack on a mountain bike or haul their fishing gear to one of the area’s most secluded lakes, rivers, or creeks. You could spend an entire week in this dense wilderness and never touch the same trail twice.
