We are very excited about the latest snowfall. We got quite a bit overnight. It started out wet, but then ended up creating this nice, light base. We are going to be out all day grooming and expect to have 100% of our trails open for skiing this weekend.
We really can’t complain about the conditions, we’re skiing on powder/packed powder in the month March, which of course means you’ve got really comfortable weather for skiing. No more bundling up in lots of layers, covering everything but your eyes to go out and enjoy the fresh snow. This is Spring skiing at it’s best! Now is the time to come out and enjoy the snow, enjoy these winter sports we all love so much and really feel like you got to get the most out of this winter wonderland.
To really get the true Spring Skiing experience, stop by the sugar house for some delicious maple treats. In the days when the maple trees in that area of the ski trails would have been tapped, we would be looking for the sap to start flowing this time of the year.
Gore is also looking good. Here is their latest snow report: Gore Conditions. Did you know they have a podcast? Lot’s of information, and worth a listen.
Of course, the fresh snow has us really excited for our upcoming day trips. We’re hoping to go to either Santanoni or Moxham Mountain on March 17, and into the Siamese Ponds Wilderness Area on March 24. We’re making flexible plans to ski, snowshoe or microspike so that we take our cues from nature and make these the best days out possible. They are going to be great trips with great people. Sign up at the Outdoor Center or at the Front Desk, these are $25 for non-guests and free to guests, packed lunch included courtesy of our wonderful Chef Tom in the Log House.
Finally, don’t forget about the Spring Blowout Sales we’ve got going on in the shop. 30, 40 and 50 percent off select items!
