Fall Foliage at Garnet Hill

The view of the Adirondack Mountains from the front lawn of Garnet Hill Lodge is looking very autumnal today (9-25-19), as the fall foliage continues to show more and more colors each day.  We are enjoying a great week of guided hiking with some of our guests and enjoying the crisp fall air, beautiful sunshine and views that never get old, even if you are lucky enough to call this home.  The photo below is from a fantastic hike on Monday to Blue Ledges on the Hudson River.

Blue Ledge on the Hudson

Blue Ledges in the FallDistance (round trip):  5 miles

Vertical Rise: 230 feet

Hiking Time: 3 hours

Distance from Garnet Hill: 13 miles

No more inviting place exists on the Hudson River than the narrows of Blue Ledge in the heart of the Adirondacks.  The towering cliffs that give the gorge its name rise above one of the river’s wildest stretches of rapids.  The sand beach opposite the ledges make an excellent place to picnic.
