It was an absolutely fantastic weekend at Garnet Hill Lodge and Outdoor Center. We had lots going on, the sun was shining, the snow was at its best, and the company was wonderful as always.
And on that note, we are looking ahead to another weekend of glorious spring skiing. This Saturday, March 24, we are offering a Backcountry Ski Day Trip to Great Camp Santanoni. The snow is just so good, we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to get back out on our skis in the backcountry. If you are looking for snowshoe tours, take a look at our weekly schedule and stay tuned later in the season as we may do another longer trip.
Santanoni is one of my personal favorite trips. It’s just a lovely, peaceful trip through the woods on a relatively easy backcountry trail. Being an old carriage road, it’s nice and wide with gentle ups and downs. Any difficulty really comes from the distance not the terrain. It’s about a 5 mile trip in and then 5 miles back. Once we get to the Great Camp, we will stop to have lunch and explore before we make the return trip home.
Plan to meet at 8:30 am at the Outdoor Center for a 9am departure. We expect to return between 4 and 5pm depending on conditions and skiers. The trip is free to guests and costs $25 for non-guests and includes a packed lunch. Choose from ham, turkey or veggie and cheese sandwiches.
We hope you will join us and would appreciate you signing up ASAP so that we can plan accordingly. Call (518) 251-2150 to sign-up.
