The on-site Garnet Hill Trail System is a dreamlike winter wonderland for cross-country skiing enthusiasts. We have over 55 kilometers of meticulously-groomed trails that meander through the tranquil Adirondack Mountains near North River, NY. With trails ranging from easy to difficult, cross-country skiers of all skill levels can enjoy our wilderness trails. Visit the Garnet Hill Outdoor Center before embarking on a full-day excursion for passes, maps, trail conditions, weather reports, free shuttles, and rentals. We also offer lessons, tours, steaming hot drinks, and yummy maple treats.
Alpine Skiing at Gore Mountain
We highly encourage our guests to try several outdoor adventures during their Upstate New York getaway, including alpine skiing at Gore Mountain in nearby North Creek, NY. Guests at Garnet Hill Lodge can save up to 20 percent off lift tickets when you add it to your stay. These vouchers can be redeemed at any point during the winter season. Gore Mountain is a beautiful, crowd-pleasing ski resort with stunning Adirondack Mountains skyscapes, 14 lifts, and 110 trails. We may be biased, but we think Garnet Hill is one of the most unique Gore Mountain lodging options you’ll find.
Ice Fishing
We’re always pleasantly surprised when guests choose to embark on a one-day guided ice fishing trip for two through our partners at Adirondack Mountain & Stream Guide Service. Each fully-customizable ice fishing trip starts at just $300 for two people. Depending on which lake is chosen for your journey, you’ll be reeling in largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and trout. Ice fishing trips must be booked at least seven days in advance.
